I am a 20 year old American looking out onto a world that is changing rapidly.  I'm enjoying the change but I hope that ultimately it happens for the better.  I cast the first vote of my life for Barack Obama and I am thrilled that he won the Presidency.  It is my deepest hope that he will serve to unite the citizens of this country among themselves and with the rest of the world.  We could all use a great deal more respect and understanding for one another than we currently posses.

I am an undergraduate student studying Biochemistry in pursuit of a Ph.D in Biochemistry and a Bachelor's in Animal Science.  I credit horses with having saved my life as well as my soul when I was a depressed teenager.  They took me in and gave me hope and in many ways they did for me what I could not do for myself at the time.  I would like to return the favor by learning and studying their illnesses and protecting them through the field of Equine Pharmaceutical Research.

More than anything, I seek to be a citizen of the world.  It is my deepest wish to travel to many countries and immerse myself in many cultures.  I am fascinated by and in love with the differences between people.  The things that set us apart, make us unique, and add color and excitement to our world.  I believe that all people are equal and I aim to further the cause of Peace and Tolerance throughout my life and in all my dealings with others.
